Job Description
Role Overview – Digital Nurture 5.0 Java FSE
The Cognizant Digital Nurture 5.0 program is a flagship campus hiring initiative for the 2027 batch, designed to bring in young engineering talent into Cognizant’s Generation Cognizant (GenC) workforce. Selected candidates join the Java Full Stack Engineering (Java FSE) track, where they learn server-side Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, modern front-end frameworks, databases, and DevOps tooling before being deployed onto real client engagements. It is a structured pathway that turns fresh graduates into industry-ready full-stack engineers.
Entry-level jobs
Key Responsibilities
- Java Backend Development:Â Build, test and deploy backend services using Core Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate and RESTful APIs as part of enterprise-grade applications.
- Front-End Integration:Â Work on modern web UIs using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and frameworks like Angular or React, integrating them seamlessly with Java backends.
- Database Operations:Â Design schemas, write optimized SQL queries and use ORMs (JPA / Hibernate) on relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- API Design & Consumption:Â Develop and consume secure REST and microservice APIs that power scalable client solutions across industries.
- Code Quality & Testing:Â Write unit tests using JUnit, perform code reviews and follow agile development practices in collaboration with senior engineers.
- DevOps & CI/CD:Â Use tools like Git, Maven, Jenkins and Docker to support continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.
- Client Collaboration:Â Participate in client calls, gather requirements, document technical solutions and contribute to real-time delivery of digital projects.
Eligibility Criteria
-  Educational Qualification: B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech from CS, IT or any Circuit branch (ECE, EEE, E&I, etc.)
- Batch Year:Â 2027 graduating batch only
- Academic Performance:Â Minimum 60% or equivalent CGPA in 10th, 12th, Diploma, UG and PG with no active backlogs at the time of selection
- Technical Skills:Â Working knowledge of Java, OOPs, Data Structures, SQL and basic web technologies is preferred
-  Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English  communication for client-facing collaboration
- Other:Â Candidates must be Indian citizens and willing to relocate to any Cognizant office across India

- Round 2 – Communication Assessment: Online evaluation of English communication and aptitude skills.
- Round 3 – Self Learning & Technical Assessment: Complete the deep-skilling modules followed by a technical test on Java, DSA and full stack concepts.
- Round 4 – Technical / SME Interview: Discussion on Java, projects, problem-solving and full stack fundamentals with a Cognizant subject matter expert.
- Round 5 – HR Interview & Offer Roll-out: Cultural-fit conversation followed by tier-based offer (GenC, GenC Pro or GenC Next) based on overall performance.
Salary & Benefits
Cognizant offers a performance-based tiered salary structure for this role — Rs. 4.01 LPA for GenC, Rs. 5.4 LPA for GenC Pro and Rs. 6.75 LPA for GenC Next.
